NYX Cosmetics Cream Blushes

Sunday, June 27, 2010

I bought these bad boys at IMATS in Pasadena yesterday, among other things, but I was so excited to try these on. I don't know what it is about cream blushes that really gets me going.
These colors, Golden and Tea Rose, are nothing short of amazing. I really don't know how much of a deal I got, but I'm sure I would pay up to $3 more for them.
When naming a product, I really wonder if they are inspired by the colors / textures or if they were stumped and look out the window or down in their Starbucks cups for names.
There is nothing golden about Golden, and 'Rose Tea' rolls off the tongue better than Tea Rose...but what do I know?
There are slight differences in packaging between the two but you get 0.21 oz with Golden and 0.19 0z with Tea Rose
As seen above, the colors are true to their pans. Even though Golden is light it is not as sheer as I thought it would be. Tea Rose is very thick and creamy and is easily over applied.

I don't know about you ladies, but my favorite way to apply these suckers is with a SS190 by SigmaMakeup. Of course when we are having one of those "Oh sh*t I'm late!" days I will just use my fingers. Wash your hands cochinas.
Do you love or hate cream blushes and why? I think they are a lazy OR busy girl's secret weapon. What brands and colors do you love and recommend?

Until next time, stay safe and fabulous!

I like the look of "Golden". I'm just getting into cream blushes, since trying NYC blushable creme sticks. I'm addicted to "South St Seashell" and "Plaza Pink" right now, but would love to try some more peachy/coral shades, maybe from the MAC collection. But anyways, I will definitely give the NYX ones a try! Gracias chica :)

Great post girl, I just love blush! but for me I think cream blushes take more work powder a couple of swipes and your done the cream ones you have to work into your skin and make extra sure they look right not all splotchy lol.

I must admit, I'm new to the makeup world. Because of that, I've been kind of freaked out by cream blushes. I guess I just don't know how to use them, and using a brush on them makes me cringe.

But these colors are so dang pretty, I just might have to pick them up!

i have their cream blush in a hot pink shade and it looks good when applied sparingly. but youre right, they can be easily over applied.
personally im not a big fan of cream blushes. i feel that it smears the foundation/concealer/contour/highlight--what have you underneath.
and much more effort is required when blending. i like cream finish on a highlighter though.
bobbi brown have good "rouge pots" too (cream blush)

hola guapa, I love cream blushes, I too use my sigma ss190 for cream blushes! I need to get into NYX's cream blushes, powder blushes just don't stick on me and cream does!

I love the colors, but I am not sure how to apply cream blush. Do you have a video for that?

I'm not sure what I like, but I think they would be nice for a "dewey" sort of look, which I love, as opposed to a powder blush which can be more matte.

I never tried cream blushes before, fearing it would make my cheeks look oily, but after watching your video on youtube, I decided to give the Golden and Tea Rose a try. I ordered them online and I love the look of both of them so Thank you, your videos and posts are the best :)
